How do I edit metadata on the Olive ONE?

To edit metadata (i.e. the name of the artist, track, album etc.) simply keep your finger pressed on the name of the album/artist/track and select EDIT in the pop-up window. A new pop-up will open:

1. Tracks

Select "Apply changes to complete album" if you want to apply the changes to all the tracks in the album. Confirm your changes with the SAVE button.

2. Album

3. Artist

For artists and albums all changes will be automatically applied to the complete artist or album.

We have also introduced a web interface with software .28 that allows you to edit metadata. Simply enter xxx.xxx.x.x/maestro.php into your web browser. The xxx.xxx.x.x corresponds to the IP address of your ONE. Please use Opera and Chrome for now as they are currently the only browsers supported.

Note:

  • Metadata can right now only be edited for music stored on your built-in HDD. We are looking into adding metadata editing for supported UPnP software packages at a later point in time.

It would be nice to be able to change metadata from a computer instead of directly on the One. Also a right and left arrow button would be helpful on the One keyboard to change the metadata for long titles.

Hello Jack, we are looking into a web interface that will allow you to do that. We will look into making the titles scrollable on the metadata editing screen.

Why is the editted metadata not saved to the music files??? The Tag fields keeps remained after editting. While the database of the olive is correctly updated!
Either by using the web interface and the olive one itself.

Hello Jacqueline, before we can write the metadata into the tags directly we have to do some considerable changes. We will implement this towards the mid of the year, but are planning to offer a feature to export the metadata fields from the local database into the metadata tags.
